Lac de Presset and Pierra Menta

Sublime hike to Lake Presset – Monday, August 8 from the hamlet of Treicol.
This is one of the most famous Beaufortain hikes. The refuge Presset has a splendid view of the famous Pierra Menta, massive symbol of Beaufortain; the mythical summit that gave its name to the International Ski Mountaineering race that has taken place in Arêches-Beaufort annually in March since 1986.

Description of the route:

From the parking lot of Treicol, follow the track and reach a little higher up the GR5 (red and white markings) that cuts the turns of the track. Above, take the left fork of the GR5 towards the Col de Bresson. Col de Bresson, leaving the GR5 and take left the path towards the shelter and Lake Presset. The route becomes red and yellow (GRP Tour du Beaufortain).
The shelter is set on a promontory with the lake hiding behind.
