Tignes
Tignes brings together 5 villages forming a high altitude ski resort:
Tignes-les-Brévières, Tignes 1800 (Les Boisses), Le Lavachet, Tignes le Lac and Val Claret.
Quirky, cosmopolitan, sporty and innovative, Tignes offers you the unique experience of living the mountain differently. For winter sports enthusiasts, Tignes is above all an internationally renowned ski resort which offers the best snow from September to May and a wide variety of slopes.
The Tignes / Val d’Isère ski area (also known as “Espace Killy”) consists of 300 km of slopes of varying difficulty which extend between 1,550 m and 3,450 m in altitude.
In addition to these tracks, you can also enjoy 6 slalom areas, 1 mogul park, 2 snow parks and 1 ice area.
In Tignes, skiing is also practiced in summer. On the Grande Motte glacier, the blue, red and black slopes provide you with the unique joys of snow from June to August.
At the foot of the dam, at an altitude of 1,550 m, is the village of Les Brévières and its traditional chalets, where it is good to cosy up on winter evenings around a fondue or a raclette near a fireplace.
Tignes 1800 is the new village of the resort; a replica of the old village submerged under water in the 1950s. Entirely rebuilt in 2013, the main district incorporates Savoyard architectural in wood and stone. The church of Boisses was also rebuilt identically to that which was also submerged. It contains very rich furniture and paintings in the Baroque style. Tignes 1800 benefits from excellent snow conditions and two new 10 seater gondolas: the Boisses and the Brévières .
Want to combine quiet and skiing? You will really love the Lavachet district! Ski lifts accessible on skis just a few minutes from Tignes le Lac and Tignes Val Claret with free shuttles: you enjoy all the advantages of the resort while enjoying the tranquility of the neighborhood.
Sports center, shopping, ice rink … Tignes le Lac is the real center of the Savoyard resort. Its many facilities and its proximity to the lake allow the resort to offer a rich and varied après ski. In an urban architectural style, the residences almost all have direct access to the slopes.
The Val Claret is the highest level in Tignes. It is a young and dynamic resort with modern architecture. At the foot of the Grande Motte glacier and its funicular, Val Claret is also the base camp for major freestyle events in Tignes. Sports resort par excellence, the Val Claret offers a very festive après ski.
